Charles Barkley Reveals Kobe Bryant Signed a Contract to Be Part of NBA on TNT After His Retirement

Following his retirement from the NBA in 2016, Kobe Bryant went on to have a successful second career.

However, some may be surprised to find that he actually signed up to join the team at TNT, as per Charles Barkley.

In a public statement, Kenny Smith and Barkley said Bryant could have joined them if he had desired. However, the five-time champion has decided to focus on his business endeavors and become a screenwriter.

Bryant was viewed as one of those individuals who would have been successful at anything he put his mind to, so it wasn't hard to imagine him becoming a fixture of TNT.

He would've been reunited with Shaquille O'Neal, with whom he won three consecutive NBA titles, if he'd joined Barkley, Smith, and host Ernie Johnson.

Whatever success Bryant was ultimately going to have in his new life and career was tragically cut short when he was killed in a helicopter crash in January 2020.
