In Today's Hip Hop, Kodak Black is one of the more interesting characters. He is always in the news and provides fans with funny social media moments. Nevertheless, Kodak is a rising star in the world of music who is attracting the attention of rap's elite.
During a recent appearance on Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club, Florida. Kodak talked about his relationship with Drake and revealed that the 6 God recently gave him a very generous hand up in the cryptocurrency space.
“Drake and I do a lot behind the scenes talking and shit,” he said. “I ain’t tell nobody this, but the other week that n-gga sent me a quarter-million dollars, for no reason. Me and my brother Lance, we in the car and this n-gga text me like, ‘You got Bitcoin?’ I was like, ‘Nah.’ He was like, ‘Set up a Bitcoin wallet.’ So I’m putting two and two together, that’s four!”
Kodak added, “He was like, ‘Yeah man, make sure the email right and the numbers so when I send it.’ I’m like, ‘Send it?! Nah, hold on, boy, what you got going?! What you bout to do?!’ That fuck n-gga sent me 6.6 coins, and at the time, that shit was like $32,000 a coin.”
“Shit, and then over time, those coins got up to like 40 bands a coin. So then that shit came in and it’s really like $300,000 in my Bitcoin wallet right now.”
Drake's Bitcoin gift must have a purpose, such as a partnership with his OVO brand, as Charlamagne Tha God said. Kodak did not confirm nor deny that claim, but implied that he and Drizzy are in discussions about collaborating.
“That’s crazy! Charlamagne, you smart for real,” he responded. “You got a gift from God, man. Yeah, we been on some shit, we be hollering.”
On Friday (February 25), Kodak Black will release his fourth studio album, Back For Everything. A total of 19 tracks are included on the project, including the No. 6 Billboard Hot 100 hit "Super Gremlin."
