The Hip Hop veteran has a lot to tell as a 30-year veteran - but there's one tale that beats them all. In a recent Instagram Live session, the Bronx, New York native recalled the time mobsters almost killed him and his Terror Squad collective in Connecticut.
It was Big Pun who invited Joey Crack and co. to perform at the Puerto Rican Day Parade in Bridgeport, where it all went down, although Pun didn't actually go himself. When Terror Squad arrived, they were “treated like kings” by local kingpin Frankie “The Terminator” Estrada and his crew.
However, things went sideways when Terror Squad's Cuban Link offered Estrada's wife a drink.
“The main kingpin who’s treating us like a king, he got his wife with him, the Nana. He won’t let go of her hand, he’s one of those dudes madly in love with his girl,” Joe remembered. “The guy accused Cuban of trying to fuck his girl or whatever.”
Cuban Link allegedly punched the man in response, provoking an all-out brawl in the club that left the Terror Squad vastly outnumbered.
“I think Cuban punched him in his face, he knocked him out,” Joe continued. “Now we go from Puerto Rican Parade to 5,000 guys in the club jumping us. It’s, like, 10 of us against 5,000 guys. We got our ass whooped! Listen to me, we got our ass whooped! I don’t know how we’re alive!
“We had the best Terror Squad has to offer. We wasn’t in with pussy guys; we was there with the realest we had. And everywhere you looked we was getting stomped out. 10 dudes on 1 dude, 20 dudes on another. Everybody got beat up!”
