Gunna, Future & Young Thug's 'Pushin P' Makes History as First Single This Year to Be Certified Gold

Gunna, Young Thug and Future's efforts to popularize "Pushin P" lingo from their popular single have paid off, despite backlash from rappers such as Sauce Walka and Freddie Gibbs.

The trio of Atlanta-born lyricists became the first artists of 2022 to receive a gold certification from the RIAA for their collaboration on Gunna's DS4EVER album back in January.

Gold plaques for "Pushin P" serve as yet another accolade for Gunnna's DS4EVER album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart after a sales battle with The Weeknd's Dawn FM album.

DS4Ever is Gunna's highest charting release from his signature Drip Season mixtape series since the previous installment, Drip Season 3, debuted and peaked at No. 55 in 2018. It is also his highest-selling release and recorded a major increase in first-week sales with 150,300 equivalent album units earned compared to his collaboration album with Lil Baby, Drip Harder, which sold 130,000 units in 2018.

Earlier this month, news broke that the album itself has sold over 500,000 copies, making it eligible for its own gold certification.
