In the 'Medea' promo, Tyler Perry pays hilarious homage to Mary J. Blige's Super Bowl halftime look

While promoting this upcoming Netflix movie A Medea Homecoming, Tyler Perry had some fun with Mary J. Blige's fiery Super Bowl 56 performance.

A writer/director/actor, he has never shied away from committing fully to the character he has played in nearly a dozen Medea films. With hilarious results, he digitally inserted Medea's face onto Blige's body and into her blingy halftime outfit in his latest post.

Dubbing his new character “Medea J. Billie,” Perry as Medea wrote, “I rocked the Super Bowl! Thanks so much to all my fans. It looked like they were jealous of me performing in the parking lot. Having tried on my outfit first, they made Mary's out of the fabric they had left." The accompanying post found Medea in a pair of photos in which she squeezes into Mary's gear to promote the upcoming film.

She thinks she's the only queen of hip hop soul, but I prove her wrong. God made me that way," Medea J. continued in the spicy post that ended with a parody of a certain former president and Mary's hit "No More Drama" from 2001. "I rocked it! I mean. I rocked the car I was standing on but you get the idea. These pictures are from me performing my song about someone I miss. It's called 'No More Obama.'"

Blige, not Medea, performed at halftime alongside Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, and Anderson .Paak on Sunday at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Medea shouldn't know that, though.
