The Harder They Fall director Jeymes Samuel is teaming up with Jay-Z once again, this time for Netflix's adaptation of the Irredeemable and Incorruptible comics.
Netflix confirmed the project on Thursday, noting that Samuel will direct an adaptation of the original Boom! Studios series Irredeemable and its spinoff Incorruptible. Kemp Powers is handling the script, whose previous credits include Soul and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
In a press release, Boom! Fans can expect the main characters of the two series (both created by Mark Waid) to square off in the adaptation. The film will be produced by Jeymes Samuel, James Lassiter, and Boom! Studio's Stephen Christy, Ross Richie, and Jay-Z. The latter also served as a producer on The Harder They Fall, as did Lassiter.
Waid and Irredeemable illustrator Peter Krause were "thrilled to death" by the adaption's talent, according to Deadline. “Their unique take on the comic makes it unlike any anti-hero story I’ve ever heard, and I love it,” Waid told the publication.
