Get excited, Trojans fans: JuJu Smith-Schuster says USC is going to win a national championship under Lincoln Riley... as early as next season!
During Super Bowl week, JuJu was feeling super excited about his college team's new hire, even predicting that USC would win its first championship since 2004 now that Riley is in charge.
"Soon, man," he tells TMZ Sports. "This year and whatever God has planned. I think we just gotta keep pushing. I think it's a great move. We have a great coaching staff, so it helps us out a lot."
After playing three seasons for the Trojans, JuJu was drafted by the Steelers in the 2nd round of the 2017 NFL draft, and he obviously has a soft spot for the Trojans.
However, most would agree that Riley's acquisition gives USC a serious chance to compete for a CFB championship ... regardless of bias.
Former Oklahoma coach Riley is the 30th head coach in the program's history. He left his post as the play-caller at Oklahoma to move to L.A. ... thus becoming the 30th head coach in program history.
USC was heavily recruiting Riley at the time of his move, after meeting with them in person Riley knew the school and their football program were the right fit for him.
