Kanye West is dealing with a lot at the moment. In addition to preparing for the release of DONDA 2 next week, Yeezy is still undergoing divorce proceedings with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian. TMZ reported on Friday (February 18) that Kanye's legal team objected to Kardashian's declaration of being legally single.
As it may seem on the surface, Ye's objection is not as petty as it appears. Kanye's lawyers do not want her to be ruled legally single until next month's hearing which will resolve all custody and property issues between the former couple. While he doesn't object to her being single, he wants to keep their assets as "marital property" for the time being.
According to TMZ, the Chicago-bred billionaire wants three things: money is reimbursed if either of them dies, Kim can't move assets out of their co-trust, and a conversation between Kim and her future husband be allowed for use in court if she remarries.
According to TMZ, Kim Kardashian will almost certainly be ruled legally single at next month's court date despite the prenuptial agreement.
On the music front, Kanye West is still on track to release DONDA 2 next Tuesday (February 22). He will be performing at Miami's LoanDepot Park that night.
