Among the top rappers in the game today is Lil Durk. Since the release of his seventh studio album 7220, his stock has gone even higher, and with that came conversations about him being one of the most powerful figures in Hip Hop.
In his interview with the Full Send Podcast on Wednesday (March 23), Durk discussed the four current leaders in Hip Hop. Adding himself to the mix was Durkio, along with a group of similarly popular rappers.
“You got [Lil] Baby,” Durk said. “I’ma name my three, not the three who the real already know. So, [Lil] Baby, I’ma say Kodak [Black] — this not including the [Young] Thug’s and Future’s — and then I’ma say 21 Savage.”
Kodak Black recently released his new album Back for Everything, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and included the platinum-certified top 5 hit "Super Gremlin."
Savage dropped off some excellent guest features in 2021 and has teased a new album this year. Meanwhile, Lil Baby is arguably the biggest star out of the group thanks to his 2020 album My Turn, which catapulted the rapper into the spotlight and began the incredible run he is currently having.
NBA YoungBoy is one name fans might consider glaringly absent from Durk's list. With a number of platinum plaques, No. 1 albums and hits on the Billboard Hot 100, the Baton Rouge native has emerged as one of YouTube's biggest artists. His absence, however, is hardly surprising given the ongoing feud between the two.
In another conversation with the hosts of the Full Send Podcast, Lil Durk revealed how much he charges for a verse. While the number was pretty high and stunned the guests, it was justified given how in demand the Chicago rapper is at the moment.
“If I don’t know you, I ain’t going to lie, I gotta go $350,000,” he said. “I got receipts.”
