As Meek Mill descends on the United Arab Emirates, Philadelphia is about to meet the Middle East.
Meek Mill will perform at the luxurious Soho Garden, Palm Jumeirah located at Nakheel Mall in Dubai on Friday (February 18). On February 10, Expensive Pain confirmed his trip to Dubai by tweeting, "Yeah, I'm coming to Dubai."
A reservation-only event, the high-profile concert marks a turning point in Meek Mill's career and personal life. Meek was given a two-to-four-year sentence for violating his probation in 2017 - a probation he had been on for nine years since a 2008 conviction for simple assault along with drug charges and gun charges.
Meek Mill became a symbol for criminal justice reform after the Superior Court of Pennsylvania overturned his 2008 conviction for contempt of court in July of 2019.
AFTER winning his appeal, Meek Mill teamed up with JAY-Z's Roc Nation imprint and REFORM, a group whose aim is to "dramatically reduce the number of unjustly incarcerated people."
This show also serves as a small victory for Meek Mill in his ongoing battles with Atlantic Records, which he claims screwed him out of a deal that would have enabled him to manage Roddy Ricch.
