NIGO & Kid Cudi Collaborates On New Song ‘Want It Bad’

It has been a busy time for NIGO. As NIGO's debut as artistic director of KENZO during Paris Fashion Week began in January, he debuted the second single from his forthcoming album, I Know NIGO, "Want It Bad." The song features Kid Cudi.

A video NIGO posted on Tuesday shows him and Cudi racing around a city at night and partying with friends. In the video, Pharrell, who is a featured artist on the upcoming album, is also tagged. The 51-year-old Japanese artist will release I Know NIGO as his first solo album since Ape Sounds in 2000. A Bathing Ape, his 1993 fashion brand, brought him closer to his current A-list devotees than the fashion icon had at the time.

Among the artists performing at I Know NIGO will be A$AP Rocky, Kid Cudi, Tyler, the Creator, Pusha T, and the Teriyaki Boyz (most famous as the voice behind The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift's theme song).

In February 2021, NIGO signed with Steven Victor's Victor Victor Worldwide, a subsidiary of Republic Records/Universal Music Group. Victor says NIGO originally only agreed to release a two-song EP. “Originally it was supposed to be just Pharrell and maybe Pusha, but then I started reaching out to different people, and everyone was just like, “Yes!“Yes!“Yes!,” so I suggested we do the whole thing,” he told Complex in January. "Want It Bad" arrives three weeks after NIGO's last single, "Arya," featuring father-to-be A$AP Rocky.

NIGO's next album is due March 25, 2022.
