Pusha-T has new music with Jay-Z about to arrive.
The rapper announced “Neck and Wrist,” featuring Hov and produced by Pharrell, is dropping at midnight. For the caption on an IG post revealing the cover art, the Clipse member deployed a quote by the Roc-A-Fella legend: “We got different Saab stories, save your soliloquies.”
The single will be the second track Pusha has dropped off his highly anticipated Daytona follow-up, coming on the heels of February’s “Diet Coke” produced by Kanye West and 88-Keys. “Neck and Wrist” will mark the first time Jay-Z and King Push have linked up since 2019’s “Drug Dealers Anonymous.”
“Hov is first, because he made Reasonable Doubt, and that is the grail of all drug levels, without being all about drugs. It spoke more to the lifestyle,” Push explained as he ranked his top three coke rappers of all time. “Lyrically, I’m going to say that I’m next. And I’ll say Jeezy is third, because I don’t believe there was a stronger moment in time than Trap or Die.”
Elsewhere in the interview, he also credited Pharrell, who serves as the new album’s executive producer alongside Ye, for being the one who pushed him outside of his comfort zone.
“I’m trying to get to the bottom of the barrel of some street shit, and I’ve got to go through an orchestra,” Push said referring to Pharrell’s penchant for compositions. “But you’ve got to do it. You’ve got to let him go through his process.”
