With cameos in Uncut Gems and American Dad, The Weeknd has slowly expanded into the world of film and television in recent years.
On Twitter, The Weeknd announced that he will appear on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons. Abel confirmed the news through a fan account that posted it and wrote, "proud of this one.".
During the 33rd season of the long-running show, the 32-year-old singer/song writer will appear as a character named Orion Hughes in "Bart the Cool Kid," episode number 15.
“When Bart befriends a famous kid influencer who owns an ultra-cool skate wear brand, Homer leads a rebellion of loser dads against them,” the episode synopsis says.
"Bart the Cool Kid" releases on March 20. It also stars Michael Rapaport as Mike Wegman, a character who has appeared frequently on the show over the past few seasons.
