LeBron James is getting frustrated.
After the Los Angeles Lakers lost a blowout to the New Orleans Pelicans, LeBron appeared to respond to a fan who was attempting to heckle him. “Tell me one thing you know about basketball besides the ball going in … Shut your ass up,” he can be heard saying in the clip below.
The Lakers were booed by fans for much of the second half of the game, who couldn't be happy with the team's recent struggles. “I don’t have answers for tonight,” LeBron said postgame. From the eighth minute of the second quarter onward, the team's performance didn't measure up. “Right now it’s about how we can get better today. … We’ve still got 10 road games in March, so it doesn’t get easier for us.”
In addition to James, other Laker players were jeered from the crowd. The clip above, posted by Michael Morales on Instagram, provides an example of Trevor Ariza referring to someone in the crowd as a "bitch." The heckler in that instance was eventually removed from the Crypto.com Arena. Russell Westbrook was also filmed speaking to the crowd, but it was unclear what he said.
“When obscene gestures and language come into it, can’t be tolerated,” he said after that game. “There’s a difference from cheering for your team and not wanting the other team to win and things I would never say to a fan and they shouldn’t say to me.” Says LeBron James
Having lost seven of their last ten games, the Lakers currently sit ninth in the Western Conference.
