Wiz Khalifa Jokingly Warns Fans Who Plan to Slap Him Onstage: ‘You Will Get Shot’

Wiz Khalifa is warning anyone thinking of running up on him onstage after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at Sunday's Oscars.

At the premiere of his new HipHopDX documentary Still Rolling Papers on Tuesday, the Pittsburgh rapper responded to the slap heard around the world by revealing what he would do if he ended up in Rock's position.

“Thank y’all for coming out. If anybody tries to walk up here and slap me, you will get shot, I promise,” he said. “I’m just letting you know right now.”

In the wake of Smith's slap, Wiz isn't the first celebrity to share how they would react if assaulted onstage.

Jim Carrey recently weighed in on the debate, revealing he would have approached it differently than Wiz. “[Rock] doesn’t want the hassle,” Carrey told Gayle King. “I’d have announced this morning that I was suing Will for $200 million because that video is going to be there forever. It’s gonna be ubiquitous. You know, that insult is gonna last a very long time.”

In conjunction with Atlantic Records/Warner Music Group, SMAC Entertainment, and Taylor Gang, HipHopDX produces Still Rolling Papers, which can be heard on Wiz's YouTube channel. During the 30-minute documentary, Khalifa's rise from local hero to global superstar is traced, including the making of his debut album Rolling Papers, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 on its first week 11 years ago.
