Yung Thug & Gunna Kicks Off SXSW Showcase by Performing Their Biggest Hits

In Austin, Texas, hip-hop heavyweights Young Thug and Gunna kicked off Billboard's three-night South By Southwest concert series with a fast-paced set at the Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park on Thursday (Mar. 17). The city's newest outdoor venue was packed with fans who came to witness the YSL duo perform their biggest hits - first Gunna, then Thugger, and finally as a pair.

DJ Rosegold warmed up fans with her scintillating set, and Gunna followed up with this DS4Ever standout anthem, "poochie gown." The thunderous anthem gave Gunna the momentum he needed to perform a 30-minute set.

In addition to "poochie gown," the Wunna star performed "livin' wild," "south to west," "thought I was playing" and his pre-release single "Too Easy." His day-one fans were equally satisfied when he returned to some of his earlier songs, including his Lil Baby-assisted smash "Drip 2 Hard" and "Sold Out Dates."

Based on the energy established by Gunna, Young Thug zipped onstage to his So Much Fun hit "Surf." With Thug now on the clock, he whipped out tracks including Slime Season 3's "Slime Sh-t" with YSL signee Yak Gotti and Punk's "Peeping Out the Window."

As Thugger and Gunna ended the night, they performed their trio of hits: "Hot," "Ski," and "pushin P." Seeing the two superstars, friends, and YSL cohorts take advantage of the moment energized the crowd, and Thugger and Gunna thrived on the good vibe.

Friday night (Mar. 18), Palm Tree Crew will present Kygo, supported by Frank Walker and Forester at Billboard's SXSW showcase. Shawn Mendes and Sebastian Yatra will close out the three-day festival on Saturday night.
